So I need to get in my deposit for AUC by april 28th according to my acceptance letter.

I am still waiting for SGU's decision to make up my mind. I faxed them my AUC and Ross acceptance letters so hopefully that should speed it up a bit.

Any ideas on how I can convince MEAS to extend my deadline by a bit? Im guessing - saying im waiting for SGU isnt a valid reason.

I was thinking
- im having trouble coming up with the money (1500) which sounds kinda lame considering med school is a $200,000 affair
- having bank problems?
- sent the check - got lost in the mail?

lol - im seriously lost. Anyone done this successfully have any suggestions?

Thing is , Im definitely taking AUC over Ross. If I do end up getting into SGU I might consider that and would lose part of the deposit.

How about you call them and genuinely tell them you are waiting for SGU and you will need a week, if after a week you still havent heard from SGU you then you will send in your deposit, they should understand.

I would be worried of them taking away my seat if I tried to pull that off..

Im sure these schools have rivalry and wouldnt be thrilled to hear that im need to leave them dangle for another week

Did you not state on your application forms that you applied to other medical schools? Yes there is rivalry amongst the schools but they are also aware that the student should explore his/her options, i was straight forward with my school about waiting to her from other schools before sending my seat deposit and they were understanding, 1500 is a lot of money and a week shouldnt make any difference to them.

back when i had to send my deposit i had just told my advisor i needed two extra weeks and she was fine with that. this was back in june of 2006, but i don't think much has changed at meas, so i would suggest to just call and tell them you need more time. also, they are not gonna take away your seat if you tell them you are awaiting the decision of another school

MEAS is more than willing to extend the deadline (based on a search I ran on this site back when I was worried about coming up with the $1500).
