Hey everyone,
So I just got off the phone with 4star and the good news is that my packages arrived correctly and are on their boat to SXM. The bad news is that they aren't sure if anyone will be working the Port during Carnivale to bring my packages to the office for pickup. The rep I spoke to said my packages will arrive in SXM next wednesday but might not be ready for pickup until the following monday the 5th.
My question is...if anyone has any experience with 4star during this time and knows if the agents are available next week that would be helpful. I have already emailed the sxm offices but haven't heard anything back yet. Thanks

that wouldn't surprise me. a lot of businesses operate on modified schedules during carnival. hopefully all your essentials are in your luggage and you can survive without the other stuff for a few days

When my packages arrived to St. Maarten via 4-star, I received an email. I called up the number, and asked that the boxes be transferred to the location by the Airport (about 5 minutes from campus). At the end of class, I went there, and everything was super smooth. Overall, it was the best experince I had with a business on St. Maarten.

If they told you that you will have to wait until Monday the 5th, then I would plan on waiting until Monday. Calling around excessively will likely not speed anything up.

I just got an email back from J at the 4star ocean office. She said they are closed until monday and will call me when it is available for pickup.
Essentials are not in there, although some of my books are so hopefully I can pick it up after the first day of class.
Which date is our white coat ceremony again? my nice shoes are in the box haha

-Don't concern yourself with the books. You are given powerpoint files for the lecture, which will be more than enough to carry you through the first 2 weeks. If you need anything more, you can check out books from the library. After 1st semester, you many students stop wasting their money on new books but for 1st semester, new books are like a security blanket and everyone buys them.


-If you dont get your shoes, either get yourself a can of spray paint or walk really fast across the stage.

haha... we'll see about the shoes, I might bring an extra pair of nice ones for me just in case

Is white coat still the first friday of the semester ?

I think it's the second Friday but don't quote me on it. I wouldn't be too concerned about the shoes. Things have gotten a bit outragous at times, especially 2 semesters ago, and the last thing anyone will remember is what you were wearing on your feet.

Was the actual ceremony that was outrageous, or the afterparty? I couldn't remember!

Has Carnivale officially started??
I'm having trouble with 4star, I've talked to 2 different reps who wanted me to email them some info for mailing. Confirmed that they had received it from me (via phone) and got 'I'll get this worked on and done today' for the last 3 days. Looks like if my packages get screwed i'll be at the ceremony commando style.
