How big of a threat does the economy have towards our education?
As you all know, the economy is not in such good shape these days. Lenders are going bankrupt left and right, as we have seen recently. Current lenders are facing great economic difficulty, and are running out of funds (whether it be educational lenders, or real estate)... Everyone is feeling the pinch...
How will this affect AUC students, and future AUC students? I am starting in the fall, and im very concerned... What if the majority of lenders go bankrupt while I am in school? I am still going to attend AUC regardless, just curious what would happen if the loans become unavailable, or more difficult to obtain. I am sure none of you have really experienced this issue in the past, but what do you expect if this happens in the future? |

the current economic issues are the main reason I went with Sallie Mae. Out of the student lenders they have the largest origination volume and have a good history; however, even the largest lenders are in crisis;
Sallie Mae recently suspended their federal loan consolidation program but remain behind the federal student loan programs; Sallie Mae Student Loan Consolidation nothing we can do but ride it out and hope for a turn-around in the near future
