Your guess is incorrect, SGU has already posted 6 Rads matches for this year alone and the list is not complete yet.

- Rads (St. Barnabus)
- Rads (Mizzou)
- Rads (Bridgeport Hosp
- Rads (UConn)
- Rads (Detroit Med Centre)

- Rads-Oncology @ NY Methodist Hospital

Just because they allow you to take the USMLE does not mean that you'll be equally prepared or able to practice anywhere you want. Don't take short cuts now that could hurt you later.
well, new question then: how much does a school affect someone for USMLE prep?

I just don't feel like a basic sciences program can teach me anything that I can't open up a book & read about ...

Far as I can tell, clinicals all happen in the US & I don't really know how big of a difference there can be between AUC US clinical site & St James US clinical site (anyone can clarify?)

Big difference is in AUC's reputation. I'm trying to weigh how much I give up in terms of those connections if I end up @ St James (AUC might reject me & I don't want to deal with the whole application cycle again).

the difference might be debatable, but what is not debatable is the thousands of grads who have gone before you in schools like auc, ross, sgu

Not to encroach on an AUC post, but there were 179 independent applicants who mached into diagnostic radiology in 2007 out of the (831+179) 1010 total applicants. I could be reading their statistics incorrectly. That 179 includes all IMG and DO applicants. The 2008 statistics should be up soon.

Well you should care, because it could affect your future ability to be licensed! Many lower tier schools use rotations that are not green book, which means you won't be able to practice in an awful lot of states. You need to do a lot more research into this before you start thinking about St James.

What it comes down to is this....if you decide to go to St. James, after being accepted to AUC, you've made a grossly uniformed decision which will likely affect your future practice.

I agree. If your goal is to practice medicine - you can do that with a degree from St. James. You would just be very limited in where you can do it. I guess what people are saying on here is that it is your choice how you want to spend the next four-to-seven years of your life (and how far you want those years to take you).

(Although, I would also make the argument that graduating from St. James with a medical degree is better than no medical degree at all.)

just out of curiosity, isn't it meaningless to say listen on an internet forum? rather, would not the term "look" be logical?

st james = too many variables

AUC = good shot to do many diff residencies
