    Texas Clinical Rotations and Residency

Hi guys, do any of you know if AUC offers clinical rotations at Texas? Are all clinical rotations completed in one location only or one has to be moving over every 3 months or so? Also how good are the chances for getting residency opportunities in Texas? How does matching works?
    Thanks.

AUC doesn't have a core clinical site but you can do electives there. Texas Medical Center has had FMGs rotate through their programs. I know a few upper class men who are doing residency in Texas. I also interviewed at a few places in TX. Hope that helps.

Sorry to bother you guys again but can all the elective rotations for example be done in one hospital. I am trying to get as much as information as possible since I am applying to several US schools and 2 Caribean. I dont mind much moving from one place to another but I am planning to taking my family with me. Therefore I am trying to stay as much as possible away from moving a lot and of course since I am from Texas, Houston, I would lie to go back and complete my residency there.
Thanks for the comments and opinions.

i did a rotation at ut-houston (internal medicine elective). fmgs can do up to 2 months of rotations i believe at ut-houston. it's $250/month. go down to baylor and it's $500 a month i think, or maybe $1000, i can't remember. pricey!

    No, they can't.

You will have to move around a lot. There is no way to get around it going to AUC.

You have to contact them and ask or look at their websites to confirm.

    This is not true.

AUC has two clinical sites that you can do all your rotations at. Providence/St johns in Michigan and Bakersfield CA. If you are set on not moving you may have to wait until a spot opens up.

I have a family and did all of fourth year in Michigan. Almost all the students at Providence hospital from AUC did all of their in one spot back to back.
