Financial aid forms: School address & phone

    Hey everyone,

I was just finishing up some financial aid packets and was wondering if anyone knew what to put for 'school address' and 'school phone #'. I'm going to ask MEAS tomorrow but I'm still having trouble reaching them (It takes about 2-3 days for me to hear a response and I'd like to send in the paperwork ASAP). Thanks in advance!

I put "N/A" in the school address form since it is not confirmed yet if we are in the dorms or where exactly we will be living - your talking about the entrance interview right?
According to MEAS, I am complete with my fin aid and they already sent me a confirmation that I was approved for the total requested - so I guess that means no problems so far with what I sent in
I know I can't post names here, but I found that the gentleman with the first name "G" was extremely helpful and timely in calling me back etc.... I would suggest using the middle extension of the 3 listed on your financial aid forms as that should bring you directly to him

    Question

Just got my financial aid papers in the mail... the shock of impending debt is slowly creeping in....

I know that MEAS will be open on Monday, but I would just want to get these blasted financial aid forms filled out before then...

I have a couple of questions about financial aid:

    1) I am assuming we are applying for two AUC semesters at a time? On the form titled "Promissory Note Addendum", what dates do we put down for the loan period? Since I am coming in May 2008, do I put May08 - Dec08?

    2) Would you recommend NOT getting the Grad Plus loans and ONLY doing Stafford + Nellie Mae?

    3) How do we come up with the loan totals for the Nellie Mae? Do we request the full amount of semesters 1 & 2 ($54,800) minus the full amount for the stafford ($20,500) = $34,300?

    4) Is the "Health Express" that I see talked about so much on this site the lender "SLX studentloanxpress" that is on the sheet of Stafford Lenders?

    Thank you so much!

I recently received confirmation that my loans are finalized and my disbursment check is ready on April 24th to be paid to AUC (march 5th for us)

    1) May-December 08 ... we have the right to change lenders after that point if we need t-o - I also went ahead and already did my FAFSA for the following term (08-09) since i might not have all my work/tax information

    2) I went Stafford and Grad Plus for the total AUC certifies... I was actually told by the reps from both Sallie Mae AND HealthXpress that they recommend students try for grad plus and all gov. loans FIRST.... if they fail to attain those loans THEN they say go private. I found HealthExpress or SLX's website and customer reps more accessible and informative.

    3) The two white sheets accompanying your papers should contain the exact max amount requestable. What I have read on the boards here, is that you should go for the max for the first term and then if you have money left over you can ask for less later on..... I believe you are right with your numbers, 20,500 for stafford and the difference for grad plus.

    4) Health Express is SLX on the stafford lender sheet - I think both are listed on their website. I used AMS because they are a subsidiary of Sallie Mae. Sallie Mae is the largest lender provider and I have read posts that they never have problems with paying on time; however, they did charge me fees of roughly 1,000 out of the max requested from grad plus. They provide you with the max loan but the actual disbursment is less fees for grad plus only (I didnt research fee differences between other lenders enough, so you might want to check that out).

    hope that helps

    Thanks!

I am currently filling out the forms to get stafford through HealthXpress + NellieMae.

What do you put down for the city, State, and ZIP? Do we put down the address for MEAS?
