shelf milk is just pasturized at a much higher temperature than regular refrigerated milk thats why its called UHT (ultra high temperature). It's not TERRIBLE but there is a taste diff. for sure. Don't ask me how I know so much about milk...I guess I was just as skeptical as you at first. Wiki search on milk...anything to avoid studying But to answer the OP, you would probably have to get your hands on some dry ice for shipping overnight, how you do THAT on this island, I haven't a clue.

Tastes the same to me. Admittedly, I don't drink milk, but I don't notice a difference in cereal or when I mix it in drinks.

dont get packaged milk like milkman (powdered). i used to take that backpacking and its OK but there are better ones. get the shelf milk in a box. while i do miss a fresh gallon of milk, the shelf milk is more than palatable.

Don't let the powdered cheese in the box go bad, then it makes a gritty mix that does not become homogenous. The box milk is not too bad with cookies either. Sure beats drinking thin sour cream with cookies.

get the macaroni and cheese with the cheese packet already gooey....that way you dont need milk and it is super tasty.

that powered cheese garbage does go bad and then its horrible. that just happened to me with easy mac.....yuck
