So what do people do for a year if they just barely miss the match?

thats why its probably better to scrap the idea that if you start in jan you can make the match 3 years later. if you just barely miss it, you have to start paying back loans. i dont think there's many jobs out there for ALMOST md's. maybe mcdonalds has a spot

If you fail at AUC, SGU, or Ross why not transfer to SMU, if you fail at SMU, why not try another SMU.

You could also become one of those annoying "house officers".

When I asked about the title of "house officer" on certain nametags, I was told they were folks who did not match or make the scramble, but are hired to fill positions that are empty spots needed to run the hospital. The residents have "resident" or "intern" written on their nametags. They could be "house officers", but they do not have "House Officer" written on their nametags.

are IMGs allowed to do that? since we are talking about missing the match and probably not graduating....you'd have the education without the degree.
