I have been looking at the Caribserve website.

Their fastest service is WADSL 1024k/512k -- download 1024k / upload 512k for $80 a month.

I have been reading a lot of posts about how the internet goes down a lot with the Netstar service - does this happen with Caribserve? My wife is an insurance agent and is going to be trying to do some work online... is the fast service worth the $80?

Caribserve almost never goes down. I have the middle package with 512 up and 7 something down and am very happy with it. I download a ton of torrents (all legal, of course) and never have speed problems. When I moved in, I was gonna upgrade to the top package, but never found it necessary.

For once I agree with Slevit, medium package works just fine. If you pay in 3 month blocks it is 65/mos or similar. Once or twice I had a problem with my internet not working, they had it back on line within 1-2 hours. As long as you don't yell at them but are polite and calm they will do what they can to get you back ASAP

Yes. Like I said, I have the medium package and it works perfectly. It would probably work fine with the lowest package actually. Skype doesn't take a lot of bandwidth, evidenced by the fact that it even works on campus!

Occasionally audio can be choppy on the US side while you can hear them fine, but that's not common
