Honor Society Interview process.

Is it a group interview? Any information that would be helpful?

good luck

I'm not totally sure but I think they bring you in one at a time and you are interviewed by 2-3 current members.

Not sure about the interview...but they did make it a lot easier to get in! It no longer has anything to do with your class rank. I think you just need an overall average of 83%.

one person is interviewed at a time by 2 current members. should be really casual. be nice. the interview itself shouldn't take long, but the wait might be long depending on how many current members are doing the interview, so bring your FA! good luck.

Yeah that always sucked for the 2-3 of people that were accepted but then at the start of 5th semester were kicked out because they didn't quite make top 15% after the 4th semester final exams and the class size basically becoming smaller.

Did they ever add the rule where you can't fail any classes to be considered??

I haven't heard anything about that. But, I'm not close enough to worrying about it yet that I've really looked into it. So you don't automatically get in if you meet the requirements? Do they turn down many people who are eligible?

Lightbulb

i can't speak for how it is now. But it use to be that applications were due and interviews were held at the end of 4th semester if you were in the top 15% (or was top 10%??). If the current members approved of you after the interview then you were given a tentative invitation to join honor society. After finial grades are calculated and the official class size was determined then students were officially invited to attend the swearing in ceremony at the start of 5th semester.

At the end of 4th semester there is always a decrease in the size of your class because folks fail or decel and basically don't go into 5th semester. Since they only take the top 15% students there was always a couple students that were not invited to participate in the swearing in ceremony even tho they were approved by honor society after the application and interview process at the end of 4th semester. And the reason basically is that the class size struck and they weren’t technically in the top 15% any more. Really sucked for them…
