Question What is the upper cap/limit for Sallie Mae Loans?

I have total debt of 141 k[41k fed + 100k Sallie Mae] for under grad, premed etc.
I am in MD2 now.

How much more can I borrow in med school from Sallie Mae?[the salliemae website says Grad Plus loans don't have a aggregate limit...does it mean that there is no upper cap?]

How much more can I borrow in med school from Federal loans?
Is there a cumulative upper cap on federal and sallie mae loans or do they have seperate upper caps?

Pls advise.

Thanks.

Global Health Education Loan Program (GHELP)

It looks as if you are allowed: "up to the full cost of education, including tuition and fees, room and board, books and supplies, transportation and living allowance, less other aid received." It says nothing about previous loans. This is what I got from a brief google search. This question is too important for you to rely on unverified information. COntact MEAS or salliemae directly to verify.

Those 6 dollars an hour youngsters? They are the on'e who prompted me to post.

One girl said : Oh don't worry, there is no limit!

Another friend of mine called independently, and got the answer that the aggregate at Sallie Mae is 220K aggregate.

So I called again, now the person I got, said- Yeah its 220K, but not including your Federal loans!

So I thought, the best is to go the forum and ask, because I may find someone who may have Sallie Mae and federal loans, together > than 220K, so that will give me 'the proof' that the cap does not include federal loans.....

Pls help someone..thanks.

Quick google search with "Sallie Mae $220,000 aggregate" yielded: Signature Student Loan information for undergrads

The $220K looks accurate according to the Sallie Mae website.
