    Guards don't care!!!!

Since some people are trying to keep this quiet I thought that it ought to end up here. A student was on her way home when a car cut her off blocking her ability to drive down the road, 3 men then got out of the car and proceded to try and break her windows (thankfully she had locked the doors). She quickly put her car in reverse and drove away only to be chased by them in their car. They caught up with her in front of a prominent casino not more than 200 yards from the schools front gates and rammed her car sending it out of control and sliding into a wall, totaling it. They again got out of their car and started trying to break into her car (as two guards from the casino watched with interest, but no concern). Finally some friendly dutch tourists came by and felt that they should help, the men ran away on foot since their car also had been totalled.
When she went to the guards at the casino to ask for help and to testify about what they saw, they replied that they had seen nothing. So she went to the one place she was sure she could get some help, the school, it was close and we are safe there...right. NOPE the guards there told her that she was obviosly just fine just call 911 and walk home. They could not be bothered to take time out of their busy schedules (surely they had some coffee to drink) to make sure that she got home safely.
I realize that I am no longer in the states where people actually care about each other but I would have hoped that the guards that (pretend) to keep my school safe would at least be a little more willing to help and understand.
Point of it all is we are not safe and if someone stops you run them over!!!

Besides, back in Florida at least, somebody breaks in and with my infant son in the house, they leave with three orbits; it's that simple.

Hey, -30 is not bad at all. You run into trouble between -40 and -60. Celsius of course.
