Why wouldn't they get there early? They are excited to get started and get accustomed to their new life.

Not everyone is a jaded, spoiled, ungrateful student who complains every second of the day even though AUC is their only opportunity to become an MD.

Not that I am making assumptions about you...lol...relax

Yea I decided to come early so that I can get familiarized with the place and start preparing myself to live here for the next two years. Its not at all as bad as I'd expected although I am fairly used to the 3rd world feel coming from an egyptian father and a colombian mother... Any other first semester students already on the island?

I think the fact that you love the island definitely puts you in the minority. Most people are very excited to get off the island. Not liking the island does not make you jaded, spoiled, or ungrateful...it just means you like things a different way than they are there.

How're the rooms in the dorms (5th floor if that makes any difference)? I've read on the forums that they're roomy and possibly have a view of the unswimable lagoon. Besides that I haven't heard much. is there a communal fridge?? White walls? Good blinds??

I just 4stared my projector and was curious
