Hey everyone, I just wanted to post the dates for anyone wanting to buy airplane tickets in advance/want to know the schedule. I got all the information from the AUC website under Admissions -> Student orientation guide. The password is sog0108 (thanks to my OA)

May 5: Welcome, orientation and formal instruction
August 18-22: Final exam period
August 22: Semester ends

Fall Semester 2008
September 1: Welcome, orientation and formal instruction
December 15-19: Final exam period
December 19: Semester ends

April 20-24: Final exam period

I have yet to receive the packet in the mail (it is on the way...). From what I have been reading, the exams actually end on the 19th?? Is this correct? When do most people leave?

Your last day of finals will be the 18th (Monday). You'll be fine to leave on the 19th. When you leave is up to you though. Some people don't leave at all for break, some stay around a couple days, and if you're like me, you're on the plane ASAP.

Haven't they changed the schedule at the start of the term before? I think I scheduled my return flight too late, but I wanted extra time if they delay finals or if I have a big move to do...

worst case scenario ~ 100$ change of schedule fee

they change stuff all the time. But it seems that when they say things are finalized, they tend to stay that way. I'd be very surprised if they moved the final date after the most recent e-mail.
