I would be applying for Jan08 or May08, but I have the rest of my military contract to fulfill before I can start. So hopefully AUC will take into account the early application and it will make up for less than stellar stats. I'm hopeful, but in worst case I will still have time to improve my app b/t now and next year. I'd love to hear from anyone else who is in the same boat as me, or who is just trying to get it in early.
BTW, this forum is great, you can find answers to just about anything you could think to ask! |

As far as applying early, definitely go for it. I was accepted over a year before I started. A lot of people apply after they find out they were already rejected from US schools. But, I applied here at the same time that I applied to the US schools, where you always apply starting over a year early!

I just got back from Baghdad, so hopefully there will be no going back before I can start school. My "less than stellar" stats are less than "less than stellar." I have a had a 2.7 undergrad, but retook a lot of stuff like Organic, Anatomy, Bio and got A's, as well as Phys 1 &2 (A's). Overall probably like a 2.9. MCAT is 27Q. My application is in as we speak, so I'm waiting to hear back, and sweatin it. I have a lot of life experience, I have been an Army Officer for 4 years, and have great LORs. My uncle is an AUC alum and he speaks very highly of it. I am applying to just AUC in the caribbean, and several US schools. Overall, I feel pretty good about it, and I don't want this to turn into a "what are my chances" thread. I'll know my chances when MEAS says yay or nay...
Hopefully I'll be posting "accepted!" in a few weeks. Any other Fall 08ers out there? |

I just sent my application for Fall 2008 last week too. I have a good GPA (Mean 3.56 and Science 3.45). I am hoping that I will heard back from AUC ASAP; Does anyone know how long it takes to hear if you are accepted or not?
