Mr. Popularity, huh?
Geez, I didn't know that I was that popular for someone to go into my post Hx. I'm both flattered and flattened by such attention
. Thank You again for such interest to my persona. I do understand why that might be confusing thoough. While I don't think I'm obligated to explain the "reason" behind every question I post I'll try to clarify. As I've said in previous posts I was accepted to some good schools. What I left out is I was also accepted to some other (non Big 4) schools where I thought I'll do basic science and transfer later to one of the schools that's better known, and had granted the admission to me in the past. Basically just wanted to save some time. But I dropped that idea rather quickly, since going Carib is already a gamble. But transfering would cause even more red flags, and questions I don't need to deal with at this stage of my life. So I congratulate TexSxm on supurb detective skills Hope it clarifies things a bit. Thanks all for the info |

O.k
Look guys, I asked a straight forward question. It doesn't matter where I went or didn't go before. The point is right now I'm not enrolled at any school, and will be applying to AUC as a freshman. Even if I wanted to transfer AUC's website clearly states that one must submit MCAT score. I'm not sure if they've taken any transfers in w/o MCAT, but I don't want to deal with trx issues at all. Things are getting pretty tight as is, and being older and jumping from place to place is not an option for me. Many good places where I was accepted before will ask me for MCAT anyway, if I re-applied there. But my question was not on transfer vs freshman really. It's for the admissions and MCAT timeline. I appreciate your replies. The consensus seems to be that May is more realistic. O.K. I can't change the fact about not being able to register for the MCAT earlier than Jan'08. We'll see how it goes.
Thanks all |

Don't Understand...
I really don't understand what is going on.... You asked almost the exact same question last June. So why didn't you go ahead and take the MCAT between now and then? Did you decide to enroll at SMU and now you have changed your mind and are going with AUC? Did you go to SMU and decide it wasn't for you and now you are going to start over at AUC? Now, you are asking again about AUC and the MCAT?
I think anyone in the AUC forum would be willing to help! It is just that your post in the different forums seems to contradict one another, and I apologize if you don't realize that! PAPADOC2B Member ![]() Join Date: Mar 2005 Posts: 197 Admissions chances/MCAT? Hi All! Just thought you could give me some idea about my chances of getting in. I'd have to say first that I was accepted to ROSS and SABA back in 2004, before the MCAT became a requirement for ROSS. Therefore I never took one. I went for a couple of semesters to ROSS, but for many reasons interrupted my studies there. I was accepted unconditionally to both schools, but won't be able to subject my family to neither Dominica nor Saba (island). Otherwise they are both great schools. But for AUC MCAT is a must. My stats are pretty good, although a little bit old, I've got nearly 16 years of RN experience under mt belt, and M.S. in another health field. My only hang up is MCAT. If I take one in August'06 I'll probably do fecespy. I guess my question is what is the lowest MCAT score that will not be suicidal for the admissions. I'm not asking it because I want to take the path of least resistance, but rather to get going. I'm well into my mid 30s TIA Then you say you are not looking to transfer into a school and you are not currently enrolled in basic sciences! However, in the St Eustatius' Medical forum just two months ago you posted... I was able to dig something out. And I'm just a private citizen looking at my otions for Carib schools (actually transfering to St. Eust). One thing is for sure, that locks on the doors are to prevent some honest and semi-honest ppl from entering. Real pro who is looking to get an access will never be deterred by a lock on the door. It's a fact of life, and you all know it. Again, I'm not bashing, but I'm not buying these "reasons" either. BTW, most hospitals post the names of their PGYs, and their respective schools of graduation. Those who want it, will get it regardless of the efforts not to post it. Anyway, Thanks all for your replies. Last edited by TexSxm; 09-04-2007 at 09:30 PM. |
