Thread: PDA Cell Phone on Island

Does anyone use PDA cells such as the Palm Treo with the island cell phone service? Don't need it for the web, just for the calender/planner etc. Don't know if these are regular GSM.

If it's an unlocked Palm Treo, it should be a GSM phone, but I think there are also CDMA versions of the Treo (for carriers such as Sprint and Verizon) which won't work with the GSM network on St. Maarten.

Just get a cheapo unlocked gsm phone. You don't need anything shiny for the locals to steal.

That's true, the fancier your stuff that you flash around the island, the bigger a dollar sign appears over your head to the locals. And if you think it above them to follow you back home...
