White coat is usually the 1st or 2nd friday of the semester.

Books are all personal preference and how you learn. Everything is in the powerpoint notes, but at times it can be nice to supplement the lecture.

From my personal take... You are probably going to want an anatomy atlas (netters or rohans). I use BRS anatomy regularly. I also use the histo book, but not as much since Dr. F took over. I didn't get the clinical genetics book, but kind of wish I did. I used Lippincotts biochem some, but its only useful for 3-4 weeks worth of stuff (would depend on how confident you are in replication/transcription/translation/etc). I didn't get a clinical anatomy book, but I have a few classmates who swear by it. Plus theres lots of odds and ends stuff floating around on peoples' computers. Definitely make sure you have a flash drive.

Yeah, I think when I'm ready to fly down the first time that I can start moving in. Thankfully I don't really own anything but clothes, so if I can drop that stuff off first I'm golden! The least amount of bulk that I have the second trip the better off I'll be with settling in.

dont buy a coat and bring it with you... you purchase your coat here, from notes services, for ~25$ - it needs to be the AUC logo coat

I would get an aluminum style clipboard with inner compartment and bring it though.... you need a clipboard for anatomy and the compartment is helpful to bring pencils, lab manual/notebook to lab

On a side note - something I just had my mom send me which is awesome... a "dry pak" . Basically like a waterproof wallet. The beach is so close, it's nice to go without worrying about a bag etc. I can put my credit card, cash, room key and ID in there and swim for a bit then come back. I bought several kinds of waterproof holders on the island and they are all broken now .

I really hope they have Newcastle on the island. It's been a long day of BBQ and beautiful brown ale. Should I bring a reserve 12 pack just in case....
