Are u arriving on the 27th?

To those of u guys living on-campus or off I guess who are arriving on the 27th...how are yall calling back home telling them that you're alive when you get there? I mean it is not like we have phones yet Just wondering if anyone was planning on going to UTS to get a "chippie" on the 27th. If so, let's go together! Or...does anyone know any other option where we can call the States when we arrive? I was thinking internet phone...but I don't think we get internet access as soon as we arrive in the dorms.

See all of u guys sooooon and have a safe trip!!!

and free wifi on campus. There is also an international phone in Dr. Testa/Atchley's outer office. If its open you can call us with it free.

Thanks for your quick responses! I heard you can't use the payphones to call the U.S.? I don't know that is what they said on the MSA website. As for the wifi...is the campus open all the time??? And how would I find that professor's office? Is there like a directory or is the school small enough for me to walk around and look for that professor's office?

They might've changed it, but I never had a problem using the payphones before.

Ric's American Cafe and Jimbo's Rock & Blues in Simpson Bay, or Fathom's Tavern by the airport all have wifi good enough to support internet phone calls. Sunset Beach Bar on Maho Beach has wifi as well, but it's very noisy there. On the other hand at Sunset, you can get the crashing surf noises in the background just in case you wanna rub it in with your friends back home.

Don't bother with those. Use a callback service instead.

Do Not Use The Payphones. They Ripped Me Off Around $150 For Three 5 Minute Phone Calls To The Us.

Repeat: Do Not Use The Pay Phones To Call The Us; Use Your Cell Phone...cingular Would Be Cheaper Than The Payphones.

Go to simpson bay, ECC is located on the LEFT a bit up from the Shell station. You can get a cell there with a simcard too. UTS is a little further up on the RIGHT in the same shopping ctr where Sunset Theater is. You can get a phone and sim too. (prefer Chippie because cards can be bought everywhere) Foodexpress.
