Will they still accept people this late into the admissions? Unfortunately I completely forgot to apply to Caribbean schools. Sadly my other interviews didn't go so well, 2 rejects and 1 waitlist, but here are my stats
were 3.5 gpa with 3.4 sci but now 3.4 gpa with 3.2 sci gpa. I had 1 extremely bad class a long with many other particular factors such as missing classes for interviews and such. My mcat is 29N. I'm also coming from a top 20 ranked college, public it's around top 5. I've also had 3 years working in an urgent care facility, 1 year neurology research, 1 leadership role, and have been involved with AMSA for 3 years with some more extraneous clubs a long the ways. Also are there any other Caribbean schools that'll take late applications? (late as in around this time). I'm applying to SABA, St. George, Ross, as well as this one. Does anyone have any further suggestions? I cannot speak Spanish well at all and I want to be in a relatively safe area.

- shadowed a few doctors

Add to this limitted experience a 3.0GPA and a 3.1sGPA but an MCAT over thirty.

AUC this Fall?
your mcat is awesome at over 30. you got a great chance. your limited medical experience won't hurt you that much. definitely apply.

have you thought about postbac or master's program for a year and then trying for a US medical school?

My crappy gpa is from trying to work full time and take on a heavy load (pre-pa program with 18 credits; 4 sciences w/ labs a semester )

1 F (2cr half year course) , 2 D's , 7C's ,12 A's ,26B's

My final semester GPA was 3.23

No mcat yet (summer?)

Medical Background:

4+ years of hospital exposure in medicine
Assisted a surgical resident in placing a femoral line
Observed chest tube placements in the MICU
Observed cardio-pulmonary resuscitation codes
Observed and participated in an autopsy
Taken EKG’s for patients in the Telemetry Unit
Some EKG interpretation
Wrapped a cast in the clinic
Observed an Endoscope procedure
Observed intubation
Shadowed Attendings, Residents, and Physician Assistants

Im in the process of looking for another job in medical research, physical therapy, or something medical related where its more hands on patient interaction.

Will have a recomendation from a AUC grad, now a resident and friend at my job. Have great req from my professor thats known me for 3 yrs. Will get a couple from work, ill ask the Vice President of Nursing (i know her personally) and my supervisor

What are my chances????
it sounds you have good medical experience. however, without physics, ochem, and mcat, you won't get in. taking those classes/mcat and see what you do and then come back and ask. if just taking your 2.91 gpa (and also taking into affect that your last semester gpa is 3.23), you're still a little below average. take your mcat and your other classes, and ask again.

One year of hospital volunteering is not limited by any means. I know people in US med schools who had only two summers worth of medical experience and they had average scores (for US schools).

Ha..there are people in US schools with NO clinical experience. Personally, I don't see why medical schools would accept a student with zero clinical experience, but such is life.
