what are my chances

Hi to you all, this is my first time to be in this website, I’ve been enjoying reading some of the posts, I’ve learned a lot form them, I need to see if somebody out there would help me answering my question that if I have a good chance to apply for the four top school at the Caribbean , this is my story, I’m 33 y/o, I graduated in 1997 from my hometown with a degree in medical technology, I have a bachelor’s degree of 156 hour credit with a higher level classes such as, anatomy, phesilogy, genetic, biochemistry, histology,p athology,,,,,els,I did completed my degree with 2.2 GPA, I came to USA in 2000, I’ve been working as a medical technologist in a hospital since then, I decided to go to school to retake some science classes as I informed from the collage counselor to be able to apply for medical school since it was my dream when I graduate from high school but for financial reasons I couldn’t attend a medical school back then, I had to work since I came to USA to maintain my residency to get my permanent residency and go to school as a part time student, meanwhile, I did start my own business in emergency medical services and do other real state investment overseas, I’m very well established financially, to summarize my story, I have finished my premedical pre-requisites from university of Houston and Houston community collage with a GPA combined of 3.1,I pass the MCAT with score 28.i would like somebody to answer my question’s regarding my situation.

1. Is my age would consider as bad sign to apply to medical school.
2. would be possible to apply for medical school with just a pre- medical pre-requisites classes on my transcript plus my old degree which is been credited by university of Houston (it is mentioned on my transcript that I hold a bachelor’s degree in medical technology)
3. how is the admission committee would look at my course classes load, I used to take just 8 hours every semester, and I had to quit school for almost one year due to immigration issue.
4. should I continue taking classes to get the full degree before I apply to medical school
5. is my work experience would consider as extra activity in addition to my stat
6. finally what my chances to continue in this path with my stat as
· old degree with GPA 2.2
· current 56 hours of pre medical classes(not a full degree) with GPA 3.1
· MCAT score 28
· 8 years of hospital work experience

1. no. there are people much older than you that apply and go to auc.
2. yes, as long as you have the prereq, you can apply.
3. if you have special circumstances, let the admissions committee know so they can put your 8 hour/units into account.
4. if you want to.
5. yes
6. with a 28 on the MCAT, it'll stand out. however, with the old GPA of 2.2, it's questionable.

i think you should apply and see.

happy holidays

Might want to improve your English though, a lot. Hope you have someone good proof read your personal statement.
