Yes and now if you really want to come here you just have to get accepted to multiple US schools, and decline them for the experience of going to medical school in another country. Desperation factors in to no students decision to come here.

2.67 gpa (chemistry major)
eagle scout
Shadowed head and neck surgeon at university hospital
undergraduate research fellowship
presidential positions in fraternity/other clubs on campus
many campus jobs
full time job now of Clinical Research Coordinator (seeing and scheduling patients, taking patient vitals, getting medical history, doing bloodwork, advising drug dosage of research drug, working w/ pharma companies)
32 MCAT
what da ya think? maybe?

def!! your gpa is real low--but with that kind of an MCAT u r for sure would have a good shot. but i would hurry in applying for jan 08! good luck

so true. i feel that in 5 years---carribean schools will def be a competitive option that people with lower stats would have to look else where.

your gpa is lower than the average acceptance. however, your MCAT is above average... that would probably help your low GPA.

you have lots of extracurricular activities. it sounds good.

helps to have good LORs....

you sound like a strong candidate for acceptance

have you thought about a post-bacc program? your MCAT is strong. if you can do a one or two year program and have a strong gpa, you might be able to get into a us medical school

hi i am new to this forum
my stats are
undergrade G.P.A in Nursing 2.76
science GPA 3.22
am enrolled in gentics nad biochemistry this semester. want to apply for september 2008 to AUC. i work as a nurse in an ER have lots of volunteer experience. did Americorps two years.
so what is your advice

you will need to take the mcat but AUC likes people who are/were RNs/EMT. your nursing gpa is low but the science is good. take the test and good luck to you

that was my GPA in nursing school. i was under the impression that you have to have a decent GPA in your science course work. such as BIO-Phys-Org- Chem will be taking the MCAT in april 2008
