I am a mechanical engineer student, so I took calculus 1-4. I was wondering if anyone knows if those courses will be included in my science gpa? assuming that math courses are included in the science gpa.

Also, does AUC include courses that were retaken in the overall and science gpa? and is two labs required with each pre-req? My school only offers one organic lab for 2 credits.

Math I believe is part of the science GPA. AUC will average all your grades. Not sure about the lab part.

What Are My Chances-may 2008

I recently received my MCAT scores. I got a 20 Q on the exam. My GPA is around 2.8-2.9ish or may be even 3.0. I majored in Biological Sciences w/ a minor in Marketing.

I am pasting a table with my science grades. I would highly appreciate your analysis on my chances for the May, 2008 Semester. I have great LOR's and a good Personal Statement.

If I have to retake the MCAT (which I'm thinking of taking again in September) should I apply now and tell them that I'm retaking the MCAT? Or will it be wise to apply once I get my second score.

you're going to need a much higher MCAT with that gpa. i had a gpa similar to yours but with a much higher MCAT. did you take any prep courses before the mcat? what did you do to study?

not to be mean, but 20 is pretty low.........not sure if AUC is an option right now.

Yeah I thought that too. I didn't take any prep course for the MCAT and studied for only 3 weeks. I should've studied a little longer and taken it in August.

how about taking your MCAT again? take a review course, study your butt off, and then retake the MCAT.

I'd think you'd have pretty slim chances, at best, with that MCAT and GPA combination. Also, check with MEAS, but I don't think the D is going to count for Organic Chemistry, which is a required course. You usually need a C to be considered passing.

pay the money for TPR.....study as if it was your full time job since it will be if you do get into med school, then retake it.
