Is there a time requirement for the MCATs, IE a time limit on how long ago they were taken?
I got a 28R but the scores are from 7 years ago, i have a 3.1 overall, 3.98in sciences, and a 3.25 at PA school and I have been pracicing for six years now.
How would that scenario be recieved by admissions?
Thanks

Mine were 5 years old when i had applied, so I had called MEAS and they had said there was no time limit (which I guess was correct since I'm in 2nd semester now)

Not sure about AUC, but 4 years is usually the oldest.

here it is

Hello all,

This is my first time posting here and I would really appreciate any help I can get. I just received my MCAT score today for the June 15 exam and now I find myself in a bad position. I am going into my senior year at a well known undergraduate state school and will be graduating Fall '07 instead of May '08 (if paperwork works out).

My stats:
-overall GPA is ~3.3
-science gpa is ~3.0
-MCAT score is a 25Q
-Shadowing experience with general surgeon and 2 emergency medicine physician
-Some clinical experience in university hospital

I plan on applying to the big 4, but I'm thinking my stats aren't good enough for SGU. Any insight or advice would be greatly appreciated.

your mcat score is above avg for auc. but gpa for science is a little low. try applying. if you have some really good letter of recs, that'll improve your chances of acceptance.

Thanks, for the quick reply and I agree with you about the GPA situation. I have a question about that though. This next semester (my final semester) I am taking a huge course load. Almost all of them are upper level science classes. There has been an upward trend in my science GPA, especially with upper level science classes (the low GPA is because of a slow start my freshman year with chemistry and physics) and I am 95% sure that with my science course load next semester, I will be getting at the least a 3.5. Thus, my science GPA will definitely increase.

My question is: will my fall semester GPA be accounted for if I were to apply for the Aug '08 class?

it depends when you apply. if you apply after your fall semester, then it will be added towards your GPA.
