Unhappy Scared

First of all, here are my stats:

Overall GPA: 3.2
Science GPA: 3.0
MCAT: 25(VR6, P11, B8)
Major: Chemical Engineering

I have been out of school for three years, and I tried to give up becoming a doctor. I enrolled in an online master's in teaching program but quit after one semester. I was so unmotivated to continue that I was "adimistratively withdrawn" and didn't get bothered with it ( a big mistake, because I will have some Fs showing up in that transcript). Now that I am trying to apply to schools I am so discouraged that I have this record on my profile.

I would like to get into AUC to pursue my degree, but would like to know how this will affect my chance of going to AUC. Can someone please give me some comments?

first of all your stats are not bad. not sure how your online thing will affect it. try to get some health care experience so you don't make the same mistake twice when it comes to being unmotivated, etc. you want to make sure this is absolutely what you want before you come down here....as changing your mind down here will be much more costly than a couple of F's

your MCAT and GPA are good enough for AUC - you could call MEAS and let them know about your online masters problem... you never know how they might work with you on that

good luck

Your stats are right around the average, so you'd probably have a good chance. Because of the online classes, they may decide to interview you, but maybe not. I have no idea how much weight they give to online classes. Do keep in mind though, as Kemper said, that changing your mind once you're here would be a very costly decision.

guys i have a problem

guys i have a problem. originally i posted this:

xHey guys im a Junior who is applying to medical schools in the summer.

My gpa is pretty low, 3.2 and my science is around a 3.0, im still waiting on the rest of this semester to come through. My question is with mcat of 27 and my gpa, "what are my chances"?

and also i have a rack of ec's, research/RA/TA/Scribe at hospital (over 200hrs) / and like the usual president of stuff, with a scholars citation from University of Maryland College Park

i have 120 credits as a jr, and will probably marticulate with about 150, and i am a finance major who has taken a rack of bio classes (biochem/mamphys etc)

thanks

however the problem is that i might and probably am getting a D in mam Phys, which is like the last bio class im going to take since im applying this summer. i am going to try my hardest but i am scared that this D might crush my chances of getting into AUC and or the other big 3? its the semester right before appsssssss

let me know what you guy think, should i take a year offf??

So I am graduating from Texas A&M University this coming December. I will have about a 3.2. I have a 4.0 in all my sciences that I have taken so far, but I will have to take a few more after I graduate before I can start med school. Also have not taken the MCAT yet, but am planning on taking it right after I graduate. I have been to Thailand for a total of 10 months as a volunteer English teacher, and also went to Cambodia for a few weeks to work with the kids there(which I am planning on doing again once I get an MD and can set up a clinic). I have shadowed a pediatrician for numerous hours and have also had the opportunity to observe some surgeries.

Do you think that all of my volunteer hours will out weigh my semi-low (3.2) GPA?

Thanks!

(just a little anxious!)
