hello everyone,

this is my first post here and just like most people i have many questions:

After reading these posts it seems to me that AUC and SGU are equally as good. Are they better than Ross?

Is it easier to get in AUC compared to SGU?

I wil have a ** in Civil Engineering in May 2009. My gpa is low (2.7) and my science gpa is 3.1. I also repeated 4 classes. I am totally capable of doing better in school (i was a bad student for some time, but that has changed). By the time i finish my ** i expect my gpa to be between 3.0 and 3.1. My science gpa is very likely to increase too. I still need to take the MCAT, and usually i do pretty good in these kinds of tests. What score would i need to get to have a good chance at AUC and other caribbean med schools? Or should i just stop dreaming? I don't have much voluteering experience, no research (only school work)...

I would appreciate any comments or advice!

Make a 24, get some good volunteer experience, good letters of rec... you should be fine.

I would aim for a 40 though because halfbutting the MCAT will not accomplish anything...

Thank you. I believe i can get a good score on the MCAT. I have one year to get volunteer experience and i think LOR's wouldn't be a problem.

does the +/- system apply to my gpa for undergrad when applying to med schools or do they not include the +/-'s

also, how does repeating a class you got a D in affect your gpa....will they average the grade or include both or what?

I doubt if anyone on here is going to know that one. GPA calculation is a mystery only MEAS knows...

MEAS is the very deceptive name of the admissions office of AUC

so normally do the gpa's come out lower or higher when you go by MEAS standards

because my overall is a 3.3 when you look at the transcript and i have repeated a class and my whole school uses the +/- system...so what if my gpa becomes like 3.0 or 2.9 or something
