Any AUCs to US med School?

Did any of AUC students transfer to US med school? I'm just curious. I've seen very few ROSS, SGU students made it. I got accepted to ROSS & AUC so far. Even if I get into SGU, I am pretty much determined to go to AUC b/c SXM is a way better island for my family to live.

I have heard of someone going to Duke and I believe Columbia also accepts foreign transfer students.

Wow. Duke, that's a large step up from a Caribbean school.

It happens, but it is RARE. Don't bank on transferring because unless you have some really good connections and really REALLY good grades, it probabaly won't happen. Moreover, from what I have heard, when you transfer you have to repeat some or all of your basic sciences (i.e. I heard of a young lady who was offered a spot at a US school during her 4th year, but the US school told her she would have to start over from 2nd year at the new school.......needless to say she declined and I don't blame her. It's not worth going through all that stress again.

Research the schools that take transfers. Some allow you to transfer directly into clinicals while others may require you do some (or all) of your basic sciences over.

When I applied to transfer, it was to schools which would have allowed me to matriculate directly into the third year, without repeating any coursework.

Yeah, it's a waste of time and money when you could be spending that time and money enjoying starbucks at Barnes and Nobles or putting it towards 8MBit internet speeds!
