Thread: internet equip. question

so i just found out i need to get the internet equipment installed in my apartment, i emailed caribserve and am going to go with them, but 399 for equipment, i get to keep this stuff right?
luckily my real estate lady said they can contact her and i am going to try to get it set up for before i get down there, but that just seemed expensive for a little antenna

Unless they switch equipment, you should be able to sell it before you leave. Also, you might consider looking for used equipment somewhere (I don't know where).

After 20 months on the island, you develop a complete apathy towards money. In the last few months, waiters would bring a food/drink tab of like 1000 Euro, and everybody would just laugh.

You could also look to buy the equipment from outgoing students at a much reduced price.

Money money, Chancecount is right. Money just flies out of your wallet under their own accord on the island. If the school was stateside, even with increasing tuition, I bet you our loans would much reduced.

I wonder how married folks deal with the loans and money.

on this island:
single student = poor
married student = dead broke

it is tough but doable. if you get max loans you will be fine. but remember, the key word is "LOANS"

it has to be repaid.

I would wait to get set up until you get on the island. That equipment has been out for awhile and you may be able to find some used. Or, better yet, you may meet some ppl in your apartment complex that may be willing to share the connection. When I was down there we strung ethernet cord around the back of our apartment complex and shared with about 4 people.

Are you joking? I sometimes wished it was as fast as dial up!

Caribserv was a lot faster than dialup speed when I left.
