AUC - how late is too late for Aug.?

Hey all -
I want to apply for AUC aug '07 class, but I won't be able to submit an application until probably the end of May because I need L.o.R. from some teachers I will have in Spring '07, and I'll need to make up for this semester (grade wise). I realize that AUC is rolling admission and they rec a 4-5 mo. buffer between app and target semester. Stats are:3.5-ish GPA, sciGPA = ?
37 T
1 sem. research and hopefully 1 sem. hospital volunteer.

how late has anyone here applied and still gotten in? Also, anyone know if I would be competitive for Chancellors Scholarship? Thanks so much guys!

3.5ish.. 37T .. don't you want to try US schools as well?

May should be fine. You should give yourself 2-3 months.

If I got a 3.5 and a 37...i wouldn't even bother thinking about a caribbean school. Are you sure it's a 37 and not a 27? Your stats as posted would give you a decent shot at about any med school in the US!

yeah, pretty sure it's a 37 *g*. I made a lot of mistakes in undergrad (like failing 3 out of 4 classes this semester) and I just don't want to deal with the b.s. of jumping through hoops for american med schools, especially when i don't feel that it makes much diff where you learn basic sci.... AUC sounds great, and honestly I would probably still be looking at it even without all the transcript issues and lack of field exposure.

jump through the hoops - you have a shot and it IS worth it ad it DOES make a difference- if you don't get in- AUC (and any other caribbean school ) will still be here.

Agreed.

Jumping through hoops now = less headache in the future.

Don't limit yourself long-term for short-term convenience, especially if you're posting those scores.

My 2 quid.
