I just applied for Sept 2008

I know, I know. It's a little far from now. Am I too early? Will they put my app on hold, or will they give me a decision soon?

I'd say it's probably too early. Just call an admissions counselor if you want to know for sure though. Even if they did admit you now, it would probably be conditional based on your future classes/grades

Call and find out! Odds are though they'll be dealing with the current incoming class first.

I called about January 2008, and the guy said "absolutely you can." he sounded pretty positive. It just seems like a shot in the dark.

I'm sure you can, it's just a matter of WHEN they'll look at it is the question.

I hear ya there. I hope soon, because I really like AUC. I'm trying to plan on doing something fun for the upcoming year, like get a master's degree in something interesting. I graduated a while back, so I don't think waiting for new grades would be a concern.

Did you really say that? More school before med school is the most fun thing you can think of??

I agree that doing a master's may not be the most relaxing thing to do before med school. Why not have MEAS consider your application for the May semester? If you're ready to be here, there's no need to wait the extra 4 months. Plus, the smaller class size is a good thing.

there's a mastr's degree at UF called a masters of arts in international business. basically, you travel to different countries and learn about the infrastructure of business overseas. from what i hear, it's a great opportunity to travel for a year, and most of the expenses are covered by the tuition. i heard it's not too difficult, and i kinda need to keep my mind quasi-functioning.. i dunno, something that sounded fun.
