Does anyone know the benefits and disadvantages of AUC versus Ross? I heard AUC is supposed to have lower attrition and better living conditions. How well do AUC grads perform on the USMLE and residency placements versus Ross?

I'm going to quickly answer this before everyone jumps on you to tell you to search previous posts, as this topic has been covered countless times before.

It's hard for any of us to give you a straight answer about AUC vs. Ross...we all go to AUC, so obviously, our answers will be a little more biased towards AUC, especially since most of us have never attended Ross. But yes, the living conditions are dramatically better. One of the reasons why some people i know have transferred from Ross to AUC.

Ross has a new policy going, something along the lines of fail one class in a semester, and you have to repeat the entire semester again (or so the rumor goes). But check with their website or a Ross school official before you quote me on that.

Other than that, search previous posts to find the answers that you are looking for.

Each has its advantages and disadvantages, but in any case, you will need to study hard and ace your boards. Personally, I am applying to both, if neither, or only one accepts me, then problem solved, otherwise, I will consider things like cost, living arrangements, etc. (but nothing like which one is easier, or what others are saying about if you fail a course, then you need to retake the whole semester, as I am planning on busting my #&SS, so I do not care much about that)

No, Try Skippers. It's got a higher standard.

Both schools provide good education and you should be able to get the same residency type coming from either school. Ross class are very big wheras AUC much smaller. The island of Dominica is very primitive (reminded me of the movie Jurasic park). If you like nature you will like it. It does rain a lot. Very green.
St. Martin is modern. Very similar to cities in Florida. The AUC students seemed to be happier and more helpful with eachother with school. Visit the schools if you are not sure. Dont rely on what the administrators or recruiters say as they are trying to get into their schools.
