Coming to visit next week 2-11
Hello everyone, I wanted to let all of you who are on St. Maarten that I will be coming to visit next week, February 11th-15th. I have applied to AUC for the September class and am coming down to check out the campus and the island. I would love to meet with some of you, if possible, especially those of you who are married and have children (no offense you single folks). I am married with a 17 month old daughter who will be coming with me when I start school.
I will not be arriving until late Wednesday evening(7:45PM). I will be visiting the campus on Thursday morning and hopefully seeing some of the apartments/housing. I will be leaving Thursday evening to go visit SABA on Friday. I have already been accepted there. This trip will help in our final decision if I am accepted to AUC. I will be returning Friday afternoon on the ferry to SXM and staying Saturday to see more of the island and hopefully get to meet with some of you. Please let me know if and when you would like to meet. PM me if you need to. Also, if you have any suggestions on places to stay please let me know. Sincerely, Walter Morgan |

Apartment/house for rent
Hi,
I rent a three bedroom house with an large onebedroom apartment (43' x 20') below to medical students on St.Maarten. The apartment, will be available in May, presently a couple occupies the apartment. The house is located 10 minutes drive from the university. I have just lived in Saba for one month due to my work, Saba is a beautifull island but absolutely boring. Your spouse will go crazy trying to entertain the little one. Please contact me if you require any additional information. Regards William |

How big is the island, school?
The island is pretty big, for an island. There is really only one main road that you can drive around in about an hour and a half. Maybe a little more or less. There are a lot of neat towns all around the island and plenty of beautiful beaches. There is about 60,000 people on the island so it's not a lot of people. But cruise ships are docking everyYou can get anything there that you can get back home. Anything. Some things are more expensive, but some things are cheaper.
The school is not huge. For instance, my undergrad school had 70 or 80 buildings (including a coliseum and football stadium) covering 11 square miles. AUC has two buildings. One is the main building with all of the classrooms, labs, offices, small library, computer lab, and a cafeteria. The other building is a dorm for single students. There is also a parking lot and a basketball court. The campus itself is fully self sufficient and hurricane proof up to a category 5. I did not take any pictures of the school because I was satisfied with everything that I saw. I apologize for that. However, You can see a lot on the website. I did take pictures of the island because my wife wanted to see what it was like. When I get them on the internet I will let you know. The greatest part about the school that I encountered was the student body. Everyone was nice and helpful. I was able to get all of my questions answered. The spouses club was extremely curtious and went out of there way to help me. There were plenty of students with their families there who were doing activities all of the time. I know that my family would be happy there. I have a lot of information I can share with you. If you want to contact me by phone just email me at walterowe2003@yahoo.com. Walt |
