Questions for Fall 06 Start - Serious Responses Here

    Hello All

I have a few remaining questions before I begin my first term.

    1) Internet Hookup Equipment
Is the Dorm Network compatible with Standard Wireless Equipment that is used for cable and DSL in the U.S.? Did you buy or bring this stuff down with you.

    2) 4-Star Delivery - Do they deliver to the Dorms or will I have to pick up the boxes?

    3) Ice Tray/Ice Maker - Do the fridges have Ice Makers?

    4) Exercise Room/Gym - Has anyone heard about the status of the equipment ordered for the gym…or is this still perpetuating?

    5) Basic School Supplies - Is it easy to get notebooks, pens, highlighters etc. at Note Service or is there a place like Staples in St. Maarten where you can get anything imaginable from printer ink to laser pointers?

    Thank you.

Not trying to start anything...just making an observation.
I was asking for an update of the exercise room status....not an overview of gyms on St. Maartin.

Actually, I don't know how you can qualify what the Jack-Man meant. He certainly can.

My apologies to you if you are tired of answering or reading questions, but my advise to you is the same - you should take the time
to read a question before you comment on it.

I would like to thank everyone who gave me helpful answers w/o making it personal.

You're right...I can't presume what Jack-Man was trying to convey. What I CAN DO is read, and what I read was "As for Haiku's other questions - do a search dude". If I have somehow misunderstood that simple statement addressed to you, then forgive my oversight and lack of comprehension -- I don't know what came over me.

BTW, I did read your question before I commented on it...verdict stands. Dismissed.

    Or in haiku:

    Comments on a post,
    Yet he does not understand?!
    Alas! The Horror.

This bickering serves no productive purpose. I told you I was making a simple observation. Haiku, if you still have issues with my reading comprehension, PM me and I'll be glad to take it up with you there.

Great example of a Haiku!!!! This does earn you some points.

Actually, I'll take it up here since you posted your comment here.

Making a funny comment about a question - is totally cool

Throwing personal comments and -'s at people who ask questions that you know the answer to or when you believe that a person should have the where-with-all to discover by searching - is totally NOT cool.

All sorts of people, whether on this forum for a day, month, or a year will ask many questions, over and over again, and they should not have to deal with or think that you or anyone will bash them. You may not see it this way, but it can be humiliating to someone, and it's crossing the line between being funny and being a jerk.

It is possible to help a person and to control your frustration about redundent questions in a way that is better.

I think it's wrong to throw -s at a person like what was posted above, and for that matter, in recent threads. Period!!!

    ...

I have a high school diploma with a 1.9 GPA, no MCAT, and several parole violations. What are my chances of acceptance and is AUC better than ROSS, SGU, and Harvard? And, what is the first semester schedule?

    I couldn't help myself.

I think you should do a search on some other threads b-4 you ask such a dumb question.
