Thread: MEIO: The Horror won't end!!!!

After having read many posts, I became a little concerned about something. Apparently, MEIO gives you some sort of notification that your file has been submitted for review when everything is complete. I had received no indication of this other than an assurance by my counselor that everything in my file was complete. So, I called just to assure myself that my file had been sent to review as I was told. Here is what I got:

"What was your name again?"

"Are you sure that I am your admissions counselor? I don't see your file here"

"Oh, let me check. Your application is being processed"

Then, I interject: YOU TOLD ME LAST WEEK THAT MY APPLICATION WOULD BE SUBMITTED BY FRIDAY AND THAT YOU WERE WRITING THE FINAL PARAGRAPH BEFORE SENDING IT OFF.

Then, I get MEIO's great customer service response. "I didn't say that."

Now, it's official. From my experience, MEIO even surpasses Ross's infamous New Jersey office in incompetency.

I really don't know if there is anything else that I can do except apply to SABA. I have been getting the run around for several weeks now. My deposit for Ross is coming do and I don't want to spend that type of money for nothing.

ok, now you guys are scaring me...

MEIO told me that my application is complete and will be sent to the committee immediately. that was yesterday... however, after reading your post, shoud i check with them every other day where my file REALLY is at?

I received a letter in the mail from MEIO stating that my application was complete and that it was going to be evaluated by the admissions committe.

I received the same letter on 5 Dec 03. Response forthcoming in 7-8 weeks. Still have not heard back. Email request for an update went unanswered, although I got a read receipt back. When I called last week, I was told my package was still with the admissions committee and it would be just a little longer. I asked if "a little longer" meant one week or 10 months and was told a few more weeks.

In all fairness, they did not lose any of my documents and bent over backwards to work with me on some admissions related issues I had. Also, this 7-8 week waiting period included the holidays.

I'm still in purgatory until further notice.

I don't know what to believe whenever I speak to MEIO anymore.

I feel the same as you. When I call MEIO, they say that they can't submit my application to admissions committee to consider my application for admission until they get grades for the last two pre-reqs I'm taking right now, but a lot of current students say that they were given conditional admission pending one or two pre-reqs when they applied to AUC.

Stay on top of them even if you think you may be getting annoying because they lose stuff all the time. After I called earlier this month and they told me my file was complete and then called this past Monday and was told my rec's were missing I have just been calling them.

Later, after she found my recs, she told me she would submit my file for review next week. Well I called back again this morning to make sure she would send it in for review and I will call on Monday to make sure it was sent. STAY ON THEM!

i was taking physII and orgo when i got accepted mayeb the policy changed or maybe it depends on grades if there are C's or D's? i don't know. it just seems like its one end of the spectrum or the other i had a great experience with meio and everyone is either on one end or the other....

I called MEIO to see why they can't forward my application. They said that the rules have changed and that they are not submitting the app. unless one finishes all the pre-reqs. My grades were not the reason here. I had all A's except in one class where I had a B+.
