AUC is AOK in California

According to Pat Park at the California Medical Board, AUC is AOK in California. Since NM and a couple of other states use the California status, that means AUC is good there too.

Approval

There are several states which have lists of "questionable" schools, which they review on a case by case basis. I think CO is one of them, but am too lazy to actually look it up. They may make you jump through hoops. I don't imagine that AUC will lose any states, since the quality, IMHO, is getting better as time goes on. There is a primary care physician shortage, and AUC puts out mostly PCPs. It would be silly for states to limit potential PCPs who may want to practice there. Especially given the fact that most of us are US citizens, if not US born. G

Did you just match for TX residency? If so, have you applied for your license yet, and did you have any troubles or have you heard anything back from the board yet?

We're all anxious to know how things are going there in the real world since AUC just keeps telling us not to worry, everything's fine. You can surely understand how we might be taking that with a grain of salt.

i just matched for texas for 2004 match. it is true that the licensure board is hard to get a hold of but i believe it can be done. make sure you do neuro and family practice as electives and you should be fine.

Licensure

So, with the exception of Texas, is there any other state that AUC graduates are not allowed to practice? In addition to licensure I also would like to know the states in which AUC graduates can match. I heard we cannot match in all 50 states is this true?

If you want to do a rotation at a hospital, check on the ACGME website if that hospital has an approved residency program in that rotation.

That is what 'Green Book' means.
