MCAT for AUC

Hello everyone,
This is my first post at ValueMD. After spending hours upon hours of time researching Foreign medical schools i have come down to three schools of which i am applying to... UAG, AUC and ROSS.
. I've worked full time, done loads of research and volunteer work, as well as squeezing in a full time Undergrad schooling (GPA 3.4 ...SCI GPA 3.5). Can anyone help me and let me know if i have any chance of getting in with these pre-reqs...or should i withdraw my application. I thank you for your response.
Best of luck to all.

Side note:George(moderator)...i think you're doing hell of a job on this forum...and your advice and info is much appreciated.

maybe

You may get accepted here, however for your own edification you may wish to repeat and score higher on MCAT as it is a predictor of USMLE 1 scores and future success. It is an extremely expensive risk to take with a sub par or borderline score. It depends on your motivation and an honest self evaluation as to whether you should go to school here regardless of whether you're accepted. Sorry to be so blunt but I have seen people here fail who maybe weren't prepared to take on the financial burden that is ultimately very difficult to repay without the degree. I wish you the best of success!

True, you have to be serious when you get down here and that's a problem with some of the students. You're MCAT isn't that bad, I've seen people with lower scores down here. The May class is usually the easiest class to get into so I'd apply for May if you can pack your whole life away in the next 4 months.

doesn't hurt to try

Good advice from above.

One thing that AUC is good at is looking at the WHOLE picture. Your MCAT may be low, but if you have some experience, good LOR's, good GPA, and can explain why you want to study medicine in your letter, etc, it is worth a shot. It is up to you whether to try to apply now for May, or wait and re-take the MCAT and apply for Sept or next Jan. I remember reading that if you applied and didn't get in, if you re-applied, your application would not be considered unless 1) it had been a year since your first application or 2) unless you had done something differently to change your application.....I think meaning if you took a different course, got a different MCAT score, got more experience, etc. You could always call MEIO and see what would happen. Don't start getting down before you even try. That is such a mistake most people make, with anything. Best of luck and hope it works out for you!

MCAT Score

I dont know what the AUC criteria about the MCAT is, but I got in with a lower GPA than you (though I did score higher on the MCAT), so you might want to try it .

Thanks

Thanks for all who replied....The gods honest truth in regard to my MCAT score is that i just found too little time in the day, to devote to my studies. I took it without studying b/c at first, Ross University was my first destination, and needing only to take it, it was the chance that i took....i however, reading many posts, found Ross U was not my destination.
So... I guess i'll leave it up to fate. I have gotten into UAG and Ross...but still waiting to hear from AUC. I thank you all for your input. Take Care.
