this is actually a good thing. im happy the news is getting out that it is not a "friendly" island. maybe they will fix the broken corrupt police force. hopefully they will fire them all and learn not to hire islanders as police officers. maybe they will do it how they do it on the french side and have officers from the mainland country.
at least we are flexing our muscles a little and showing them that we can hit them where it hurts. we arent helpless wimps.

I hope she is Ok and that this did not stop her medical career. I still think your are more likely to be victim of crimes in cities such as Miami ,LA or NYC than in the Caribbean. Some of the US medical schools are located in very bad areas. I was attacked twice in N.J. ( one time in the hospital as I was walking up to the call rooms ) as well as once in NYC. They were minor atttacks but still scary. The hospital police not helpful at all. NJ police also not helpful. So what to do? Just have to be careful best you can and not let it stop your dreams.

Crime
Well, I have said it before. We all know that crime can and will happen everywhere. The frustrating thing with the Island is the lack of any sort of justice by the police department, and the inability to defend yourself and put your attacker back out your front door with 14 large holes from an HK .45 pistol. Oops......forgot one in the chamber.....15. But at 6'6" and 400 pounds with double brown belts I didnt have many worries on the island. I do hope however, that anyone who has been physically and emotionally hurt is ok.

I don't have much to say about the crimes happened outside the school premises, but I think the first attack mentioned in the article on the girl sleeping in the dorms is a point of concern. How the hell did this guy get into the school premises? These security people who stop even students to check their IDs failed to stop this bas***d? The only answer I can think of is that he jumped in via Summit. May be this is the reason why they are constructing the wall to close off Summit completely. My 2 cents....
