Hmmmm, Charlie Dahon, eh? Well, we screamed it for months on these fora not to rent from Charlie, but I realize how it is, sometimes you just have to find out for yourselves.... Sorry, mate, good luck!

On a good note, I do know Charlie refunded the deposit for one place in Pelican Key (well, he just let them stop paying rent early, same difference to me, better, actually). We were shocked and flabbergasted when we heard about it. We hoped maybe he was going to turn over a new leaf and try to rebuild his ruined reputation.

I've always wondered, though.... there were signs posted about what a horrible landlord he was, yet he just walks on campus and rips them down. Why does AUC allow this? Of course, if I had posted those signs, I would have merely replaced them every week until he got tired of removing them. The school really should not allow local merchants to come and remove items from our bulletin boards. I don't care who they are. This is a sign that the school doesn't give two $4|7$ about students getting ripped off by locals who have no conscience and want nothing more than a quick buck.

Note to others: The landlords here will promise you the moon when you move in, but ABSOLUTELY DO NOT count on anything being done after you move in. They might do it, but the odds and history say that once you move in, you will get nothing, and never see them unless they want your rent! Caveat emptor! Not saying they are all like this, but I have seen it way, way too many times! One notable exception is Jane Pedlow, whom I have never met, but have heard nothing but good things about. She rents several affordable places in Cote d'Azur Residence.
