I've pretty much worked through the FASFA but how do I go about applying for private loans?

Fin Aid office should send you the paperwork for Sallie Mae signature loans. You can do individual research and get a seperate loan from elsewhere if you wish for private loans, other have done it.

are signature loans different than the staford loans? are signature loans 'private loans'?

Anything that is not stafford (sub or unsub) is concidered private for all intents and purposes.

So AUC will give me a list of these Sallie Mae signature loans I can use for tuition, etc.?

Fin aid office will send you all the information on student loans with your orientation packet.

I haven't yet gotten anything from them yet regarding orientation and such but I'm in for Aug06 so I might not get it for a bit. I'll contact them on Monday though. Thanks Shikima.

Do some research, SallieMae, may not have the best rates.
Just go to their websites and call them for more info

Apply online instead. It's much faster and it goes straight to AUC.
