It is often cheaper to book a round trip ticket to begin with and leave it with an open return date. Although right now it may be different due to the gas prices, but you could save a lot of money if you look around.

You are right!
I will wait even next week, because I was told folks are coming back and places will be available and even cheaper to go there.

I usually buy round tickets; if you buy them in advance, they are cheaper and you always have the option to change if something comes up. Last minute booking will usually cost you a lot and you are not guaranteed seats, so try to avoid that.

go directing the american airline online, they have cheap ticket and you miss the charges you would pay to agencies.
