    AUA or Spartan?

If you had to choose, which would you choose?

I spoke with a top official at Spartan and he said they dont foresee California clinicals in the foreseeable future.

I believe its in AUA's foreseeable future.

Aside from this, which would you choose if you got accepted into both?

    Thank you for your thoughts.

    Peace in Ethiopia.

It's not happening for at least an year. Right now, the school is focusing all its efforts on building up for the NY site visit, this January. And, the school is going through another huge expansion this term. A student center with a food court is being built at the moment, along with the other projects that I've discussed in previous posts.

If you want to talk to transfer students from Spartan who now attend AUA, go to www.auasga.org/prospect.htm and mention this post. There's at least 3 that I know...

The people at Spartan were very nice over the phone. They are willing to give me a shot, despite my lackluster transcripts, but I want to go to AUA. I just want to know what people on this particular board have to say, just the ones reading valuemd. Hehe.

But thank you for directing me. I appreciate it, Sree.

    Aww come on people.

What's the harm in wanting to go to my first choice? Obviously I would go to a school that takes me, but is too much to want to have a first choice? lol.

Let's let people have choices here! My choice is AUA. Woo hoo!

Where's the love people, where's the love?

Your chances of getting is pretty good based on your application.
Staying in though.... That's a different story...

AUA is great... but it's hard. Spartan is easier/cheaper, but less reputable.

Did you just use the word reputable with these caribbean money making scam schools that admit anyone, knowing fully well that most weak students will straight up fail and have a hard time. Lets be honest babe, if ur gpa is ridiculous in undergrad you probably have a very hard time. There is a reason the US and most countries have strict restrictions on people they let in med schools, think about it what med school in any country admits 300 people. But you see it in the carib all the time and most people fail out from these schools, repeat years and burn money. I agree everyone deserves a chance but dawg its good to be honest with yourself.

Please dont kill me, i know some people are able to focus and turn a new leaf. But you better check yourself before you wreck yourself. I dont mean to be mean but i am really telling the truth. And for every success story there are pretty bad ones. So really think about what you are getting yourself into, its no joke. So what school you really go to does not make a difference as long as you dont care about cali, and you can study ur butt off. Goodluck.

All the owners of these schools had 1 thing in mind, money, money, money. Thats why anywhere you look another school pops up, incredible.

    Thanks for the input.

I agree with you that money is part of it, but I also feel that many of these people are also interested in producing good doctors, afterall, you produce good doctors, you get more people into your schools. It's a circle really. But I genuinely believe there are administrators and faculty that sincerely want to teach and enjoy it. The fact is, these schools also do a favor to the minions of us that cant get into US schools. There is no way in heck that any US school would take me, but I believe firmly in the fact that I can work hard and pass.

If I was thinking to slack off and study at the last minute, I wouldnt waste my time applying. Enough in other loans to pay off to want to get myself into greater debt. I'm well aware of the fact that its easier to get into carib schools and harder to pass.

I dont believe that bad grades in undergrad mean bad grades in carib schools. Far from it. Know far too many C students from undergrad that are now docs in the US.

However, I do understand your point. I think you are saying that if you dont plan on working hard, dont bother applying, and with that, I have to agree with you.

I have hope people, I have hope.

    Thanks for your contribution.

    Peace in Jordan
