Manipal/Antigua Twinning Program

What are your guys opinion on this program? This is what I understand, please correct me if I am wrong.

It is a 2 yr stay at Manipal for basic sciences and then you do your 3rd and 4th your rotations in the United States.

I was reading something about Antigua not being valid in California and some other states. Does this apply to the twinning program as well?

Also, I was looking through some prior threads and it was stated that this program has been talked about in depth on this forum. I failed to find any links, can you provide them?

Any help would be great. Thanks.

Scott1981,

What about if all the basic sciences were done at Manipal and the 3rd and 4th years were done at the approved hospitals in the US? Do you still run into the accrediation problems with California and other states?

Second question, is the degree you get from Manipal or Antigua, or both?

You seem to know what you are talking about so I hope you can answer my questions!

Thanks.

THink of your transcript as part of your life forever...if part of it is from a school that isn't approved, California says they won't let you license. Check with their staff to confirm it.

It is very important to have background info on your school of choice and anyone giving you serious advice when $200,000 is at stake.

If you type in some of the users screen names who are giving you advice, you may be able to get some additional info on these users since the linked forum is completely uncensored.

manipals ad mentions that the twinning is their first us clinicals or am I misreading it.

I am not sure exactly how to look at this. If you were not wanting to practice in California,NY,Florida, Texas, perhaps you could consider it as a 'transfer' when you switched? Has anyone got the loans from the US govt. to work in this thing?

the ad on valuemd is scam advertising. US clinicals is NOT considered a campus. secondly, the ad is for AUA even though they act like its manipal's school.
