Thread: February 2013 class!

I decided to start this so prospective students can post helpful information abt this wonderful school and any other thing we might have to know be4 we start. I already have admission,so all i'm doing now is getting my credit score up so I can safely start.You are also welcome to share which state y'all are coming from so we can network as well. Hey can help me with what they would ask on the interview? Some questions they might have asked you? or Any tips?

Yeah can someone post some interview questions that were asked? What were your stats? And how long did it take for your admissions process to be completed? My admissions counselor received all my documents 2 weeks ago and I still haven't heard anything back!! I really want to get in for Feb!!!

Yea, for interview questions,u need to know why you want to be a doctor. In my case, i needed to indicate why MD instead of enjoying my pay and current job as a registered nurse in the ICU.You also need to know why AUA and why caribbean school. Be ready to defend some of the points you gave in the personal statement as well. and oh,also know a bit about the island too. It took about 2weeks for me to get my decision. My stats: ** in Nursing from university of texas, most premed from community college.
Bio 1 &2 both A's from the university, chem 1&2 A & B from com. col.,Org 1&2 A&B,physics 1 C, Eng A's, Math Stats A. Cum GPA 3.56. I refuse to take MCAT!!! Don't ask me why,pls.

You will need to take the MCAT to matriculate for the February 2013 class. August 2012 is the last intake to be MCAT optional.

Thank you soo much,Sir Fleisch. I always knew this day was coming. Anyways, we just had a family meeting and I'm reversing my deferment back to this August,12. I just spoke with the guy who interviewed me and he also confirmed it. My family is considering paying out of pocket for the time been if i don't qualify for the loan.
Please Fleisch, do u know when the bank will open the loan application? Thanks for your help!!

why is AUA going to require the MCAT for the Feb. 2013 class? is taking this exam required in order for the school to qualify for federal funding? just curious.

Yea, i spoke with a rep from the office and he confirmed that it is needed for them to qualify for fed funding.

Fleish, does this mean that current AUA students will be able to get federal loans soon.. How long do you think it will take for us to get fed funding for students.
