    AUA strikes again

AUA is such a "paper" school its not even funny. by paper school I mean they only look good on paper. Sure they have nice match rates, cali approval, and a loan program. But there ancillary functions are about as bad as it gets. Looking for admissions ? NO PROBLEM they have about 324564 employees to suck u in. Need to graduate? THEY HAVE 1 EMPLOYEE IN CHARGE. AND GUESS WHAT? they allow her (SM) to take off for the week right when everyone is trying to gruadate! FRIKKON genius. Need ECFMG certification for that residency you worked your butt off for that AUA basically gave u ZERO help for, or worse only made it harder for you to get it, well TOO BAD. AUA takes no responsibility, when someone shoves the right paperwork under their nose is when you will get it. It is a disgrace how AUA treats their graduates. The hospital promises me they sent grades out over a week ago (trust worthy) and AUA replies "uhhhh, we dont have them." Did you check the frikkon mail box? "uhhhhhhhhh, we dont have them." I cant wait to be done with this school.

PS - not a troll. check my posts for the past 4 years. AUA sucks.

I'm starting in August and will will be applying to the 2017 match which should give me some additional time to deal with the hassles you are currently encountering, but is there anything you would have done differently? Would you have gotten copies of your grades from the hospital and physically driven or flown into their administrative offices in order to ensure they were received and processed in a timely fashion? It seems ridiculous that you would have to wait over a year to get an evaluation processed!! Any advice you have would be greatly appreciated, and again, best of luck with graduating and residency
There's absolutely nothing you can do, AUA operates on its own time and they simply don't care about anything except getting their money on time. They will make up excuses and new policies every single day just to try and hinder any efficiency.

As a last resort AUA is a good option but just be ready for multiple headaches and never getting any answers.

Its not that they can't, its that they won't. They simply don't care about their students.

OK heres the deal. AUA staff do what they can, unfortunately they are usually completely over run with work. Imagine this they have 1 lady who is IN CHARGE of ALL clinical grades. Sure they have a clinical staff and registrars who over the "processing" but ONE friggon lady does literally THOUSANDS of grades, does this make sense? what if she goes on vacation, who covers? - NO ONE. Same thing goes for a lot of functions such as the residency department. How many people do you think apply for residency every year, probably 3-4 HUNDRED and they have TWO staff members in charge of writing all the MSPE in like a time frame of 3 months. Thats like being forced into writing 3 or 4 MSPE a day on top of answering student FAQs, how is this possible - Not sure, but they get the job done and they do it on time. One good thing here is that the 2 staff members here are caring and try to do what they can for you, but again they are constrained, you can count on a great MSPE even if u sucked as a student (which does not happen for most schools).

Long story short, is there anyway around this? I like to make an analogy to the Wizard of Oz. Imagine you are going to see the wizard (Dr. B). He is the big cheese in terms of getting stuff done, HOWEVER "Not nobody can see the wizard, not nobody, not no how." You can't call him, you can't e-mail him. He is a busy guy doing important crap all day, every day. However if you are wearing ruby slippers (you are a good student with great potential) you can leave a message with his secretary who will pass it on to the wizard (Dr. B) and presto once you see the wizard you can get whatever you want - courage, a brain, a heart, or some AUA administrative work - whatever you want.

AUA is careless with our money. You can't expect a for-profit education firm with a hand in the loans they give out to be anything but what they are now.

"AUA is careless with our money". Understatement of the year! I love how they built a makin loveG cricket field (!) that not a single student gives a making babies about, while forcing half the school to pay for parking or use a gravel lot. SMH.

Not so true... AUA finances the loans themselves because our lenders ran out of funds. If AUA did not fund the loan program from their own pockets many of us would not have loans. At the same time, they are capitalizing on a good investment opportunity at their 7-10% interest rate.

this is an anonymous forum, and since there were only 3 students who got anesthesia this year I would kind of be giving away who I am. But I think you are referring to a student "TM" and I heard that he did get anesthesia at Downstate university.
