Thread: studying for Neuro

So far I have found Neuro for Dr. G's class kind of tough so far. I go to class and take notes, then I go home and study them. When I look at my notes that just dont make sense as I have written everything down, even looked at another classmate's notes to fill in what I do not have. When I study I am just like 'ok' but cannot make out why its important or how its relative. Did anyone in the past have this feeling in the past with Neuro?

Is this class taught in a way where things do not seem relative but somehow come together in the end...?

Can anyone offer some valuable input about this class as to how to study and what to expect from it as you go along in the semester?

Anything would be appreciated...

Initially when Dr. G is introducing all the structures, It does feel that way but it all comes together in the end. I would recommend looking at a Neuro atlas while you read to develop a visual aid as you go along and High Yield Neuro also helps alot.

Rather I should ask for those who suceeded in this class, what did you do to make it though? Any tips or advice...

Neurology is a vast concept and complicated too. The concepts like stroke, epilepsy, movement disorders, neuromuscular diseases, critical care neurology and dementia etc are very confusing and going through notes again and again can only help in getting at par here.

Have you tried recording the lecture? Use/read the notes Matts rahul or they ar pretty good. The Corticospinal tract/pyradimal tract is never gonna change. Good luc and hope you did well on your last exams.
