How Many Weeks of Electives do you have to complete

    Advertisements

    Hi,

I know that you have to do 44 weeks of rotation that consist of the core rotations. However, how many weeks of electives or how many electives do you have to do in order to graduate? And, also since CA approved AUA do ppl from CA have to make sure they do a green/blue book rotation in order to ensure they can residency or practice in the future there? Thanks a lot.

california accepts acgme and AOA approved rotations. They also accept the 'family medicine' umbrella, meaning you could do all your rotations at a hospital that has a family medicine residency and they count as greenbook. The main thing is to start the application process for california residency early and get your L6 forms for each rotation.

No problem. Trust me, once you start clinicals, you will know exactly how many weeks there are, how many you've completed, and how many you have left to go. I'm 43 weeks in, and I have 32 weeks to go. 32 loooooonnnnnggg weeks to go.
