Thread: book list

Has the book list for fall 2011 been posted yet?? Im getting agitated by this slow process of finding out info.

Here is the booklist no need to get annoyed it had to get approved before it got released. Also, the bookstore here sells all the books and if I were you I would not buy any books until you arrived. The books are very heavy and many times you have students leaving selling their used books.

Med -1 Booklist, New Curriculum

The following books are the ‘required’ textbooks as of now. Note that some classes suggest optional books, or may require additional textbooks at a later time. Any required textbooks (and most optional) will be available at the bookstore.

For Anatomy:

Netter FH 2003 Atlas of Human Anatomy, 3rd Edition, Novartis
Moore KL, Agur AM 2007 Essential Clinical Anatomy
Sadler TW Langman's Medical Embryology, 2007, 10th Edition

For Histology:

HISTOLOGY A text and Atlas by Michael H. ROSS and
Wojciech Pawlina. Fifth Edition
*some students also like the USMLE Road Map: Histology as a supplemental book.

For Physiology:
L. S. Costanzo - Physiology 4th Edition 2010W. B. Saunders Company
For Genetics:

Nussbaum, R.L., McInnes, R.R., and Huntington, F.W.: Thompson & Thompson – Genetics in Medicine, latest edition, WB Saunders Company
For Biochemistry:

Champe, P.C., Harvey, R.A. and Ferrier, D.R.: Lippincott's Illustrated Reviews Biochemistry, latest edition, Lippincott Williams and Wilkins.

For Fundamentals of Medicine:

I'd get over that agitation with quickness or you're going to have a miserable four years at AUA. Nothing moves quickly on Antigua and things move at their own pace at AUA. That's just a fact of life you're going to have to get used to. I'm Über Type-A, so I feel your pain. Embrace the slow process. Learn it, love it, live it. It'll save you a lot of angina in the long run.
