Here are some photos of student housing at AUA. The list is not yet complete, but we are working to get more photos for you. Email us at aua.ambassadors[at]gmail[dot]com if you have any questions!
All housing complexes are furnished, and come with basic utensils. Do not forget to bring sheets for your bed! Your new student coordinator will tell you which size bed is in your apartment.
Amor Villas (group 1)
Includes a limited number of single suites (1bed/bath) and single occupancy doubles (2bed/2bath). The single suites cost an additional $100USD per month. The complex comes with pots/utensils/plates/cups. You can get knives, cutting boards and other kitchen utensils here, but if you have room, it might be cheaper to bring it from home. Cable TV is available for 70EC a month (TV provided), can be turned on/off by calling the maintenance person at the complex. The rooms are big, and include a dresser, desk, closet and nightstands. The bathroom floors are tile, so I would bring bath rugs.
Single suites do not have a washer/dryer in the apartment. However, washers and dryers are available on site for use (for a price). The 2bed/bath units have a washer/dryer in the apartment.
Mandalay (group 1)
Mandalay is stocked with the best kitchen. Each apartment (2bed/bath) comes with a microwave, dishwasher, stove, refrigerator, washer/dryer combo, toster and coffee pot. The kitchen is stocked with knives, utensils, cups, pots and pans, plates and basic cooking utensils (spatula, stirring spoons etc). The rooms in Mandalay are small, and do not contain desks or a dresser. A closet is provided in each room (bring hangers!) along with a nightstand. Cable TV is part of your utility bill, and to the best of my knowledge cannot be shut off.
The bathrooms are very small, and have little to no counter space (plan on buying some sort of storage container when you get here). The bathroom floor is tile (plan on bringing a bath rug, space permits for one rather small rug).
Utopia (group 2)
The units at Utopia come with pots, basic utensils, plates and cups. The only appliances that were supplied was a microwave, fridge and stove. You can get knives, cutting boards and other kitchen utensils here, but if you have room, it might be cheaper to bring it from home. Utopia has a pool, and students gather to play basketball and football outside.
