Cool What is a syllabus for at AUA?

Our members don't see this ad.
Since we started studying at AUA we have been told that the syllabus is a "contract between the school and us".

So when the grade breakdown in that syllabus says one thing and the transcript says another, what do you do?

And what do you do if you brought it to someone's attention and nothing was done?

Is the syllabus really useless or does it give students some rights?

I've never heard it called a "contract" in my classes. As for the grade breakdown, i've never see it (when compared with the syllabus) go 'against' the student. FI, if a 65 is listed as a "C" i've seen professors lower the grade a bit to a 60..but i've never seen it 'raised'. You should speak with the professor or your SGA rep for further info.

It is considered a de facto contract at many schools. At AUA, the syllabus and Student Handbook are only binding on the students.....the admin will abrogate it at will. If it's any consolation, it won't get any better during clinicals.
