Is the American University of Antigua a good college ?

So, I'm actually a junior [11th] at high school this year, but i know that most medical universities outside of the United States accepts students right after they complete their 11th grade year in high school, and I am actually interested in maybe doing that. I have been researching on a few colleges and a came upon AUA [American University of Antigua] and I wondering what opinions others have on this university? Any information you might have on this college, please leave a reply.

It's an EXTREMELY expensive community college. All you obtain in an AA degree now. Go to a regular college/univ FIRST. Obtain your bachelor's degree..take the MCAT..then if you DONT get into any us/canadian med schools, think about the caribbean.

there is no reason to consider ANY caribbean medical school right out of high school. do things the right way, go to college in the US or Canada, work hard, take the MCAT and try applying in the US or Canada. only after exhausting these efforts should you consider AUA or other caribbean schools.

besides, you're way too young to know if you're really into medicine or not. i've seen too many students at AUA whose parents send their kids here right after high school - it's crazy. half of them don't make it through because they aren't in the correct mindset. the other half just tough out and you most likely won't be happy in the end.

if you want to go to med school, do what i said, start voluneteering in a hospital, maybe after your first or second year of undergrad, get a job at one. then you'll find out if medicine is really for you. sure i wanted to become a doctor back in high school but i definitely was not in the same mind set as i am today.

Even after years of working / voluntering / observing at the hospital and dreaming of being a doctor and helping people there is a chance you will realize its not for you,as it happened to some of kids here.
